Silografia impressa su carta vergellata, con filigrana "Alta Corona" (Meder 20). e con testo latino al verso per l'edizione del 1511, variante dopo la comparsa di piccola mancanza lungo la linea esterna superiore, due mancanze più evidenti e due molto piccole sul lungolinea inferiore. Monogramma all’angolo inferiore destro. Secondo stato su cinque,  (Meder 137 II/V ). Margine di 1-2 millimetri, sempre presente oltre il bordolinea. Esemplare in buono stato di conservazione dalla vivida e forte inchiostratura. STRAUSS 113 - Questo soggetto è esclusivo della Piccola Passione. Solo il Vangelo secondo Giovanni menziona che Cristo, dopo essere stato fatto prigioniero, fu condotto prima da Anna, che poi lo mandò legato a suo genero, il sommo sacerdote Caifa (Giovanni 18:13, 24). Nel raffigurare quattro ‘presentazioni’ ne La piccola Passione, Dürer segue la tradizione delle rappresentazioni della Passione, in cui Cristo viene invariabilmente portato davanti ad Anna, Caifa, Pilato ed Erode, in questo ordine. La complessa architettura della camera e la notevole tratteggiatura incrociata contraddistinguono la composizione come una delle più antiche. Monogram at the lower right corner. Margin of about 1-2 millimetres, always present beyond the borderline. Good condition, vivid ink, strong contrasts. STRAUSS 113 - This subject is unique to The Small Passion. Only the gospel according to St. John mentions that Christ, after having been taken captive, was taken first to Annas, who then sent him, bound, to his son-in-law, the High Priest Caiaphas (John 18:13, 24). In picturing four ‘presentations’, in The Small Passion, Dürer follows the tradition of Passion Plays, where Christ is invariably taken before Annas, Caiaphas, Pilate, and Herod in this order. The complicated architecture of the chamber and the considerable cross-hatching marks the composition as one of the earlier ones.
