Legatura leggermente posteriore in pergamena; guardie dell'epoca della legatura; tagli rossi, sbiaditi; bella custodia moderna in mezza pelle verde. Bella antiporta figurata incisa su rame; frontespizio con titolo e fregio floreale silografato, entrambe bianche al verso; 4 pagine non numerate; 72 pagine numerate; all'interno, 23 belle illustrazioni silografiche di cui molte a piena pagina. RARA PRIMA EDIZIONE di uno dei primi trattati sugli orologi meccanici. Giuseppe da Capriglia, monaco cappuccino, fu un celebre  teorico  e costruttore  di orologi. Nel volume in esame, l'autore spiega ed illustra magnificamente le sue invenzioni con un'accurata descrizione dei meccanismi.  Cfr.Riccardi: "Raro… è veramente  uno dei primi libri che tratti degli orologi a ruote"; Robertson, 60 : "Capriglia's

By it anyone can learn to repair them, to keep them regulated and in order".  Esemplare in discrete condizioni, slabbratura la borso inferiore della pergamena del piatto anteriore, che risulta sollevata, taglio a quello psoteriore, anch'esso con piccole mancanza; carte lievemente ingiallite.
