Beautiful coeval binding in full blue leather; the dishes, from the thick diamond pattern embossed, dual pane delight and wheel, and inside the box frame with rich ornaments at the corners, all in gold, red back with two pieces , highlighted by friezes, bearing the title and indication of the number of volume, with (the remaining boxes) Boron central and small friezes set aside at the corners; dentelle external and internal roller decorated, everything always imprinted in gold, marbled endpapers and cuts, to contropiatti previous volumes, engraved bookplates century, weapons of "Sir John Henry Pelly Bar.t". English text with numerous illustrations and botanical images of machines, etched on copper plate, the matrix of steel and woodcut. 178 engraved plates outside the text, including: the good old frontispieces of the first seven volumes, as well as 171 other plates, engraved and aquatint etchings, botanical with figures, diagrams and architectural (the catalog mentions Nissen 175 illustrations outside the text, counting seven engraved title pages, excluding the table of the eleventh volume and double-sided, perhaps, by removing from the calculation tables 17 and 17 * ** Volume of the fifth). Among the plates outside the text of the botanical subject, 91 from the delicate (and several sheets exceptional) watercolouring contemporary, with touches of paint à la tire: of these illustrations, representing 34 clubs (including 5 of double sheet), 56 depict fruits (4 of which are on double sheet), one represents a tree. The book, beautifully bound and illustrated, includes several essays by members of a society composed of Botany London: the first volume (dated 1820) the title page bears the legend "3.rd EDITION" (the first edition was of 1812), the Volume III "2.nd EDITION". The seven initial volumes were printed between 1820 and 1839, the following three (which constitute the second series) between 1835 and 1848. The eleventh volume, not mentioned either by Nissen nor Pritzel, includes lists of the corresponding company in the years 1823, 1834, and also some editions of Horticultural Society of London. Report of the Garden commits [...]. Book in good conservative condition; content signs of wear to binding; inland from sporadic and modest oxidation, wonderful preservation of illustrative tables.
