Beautiful coeval German-made binding in pigskin on slats; rich blind-stamped impressions on the plates with a wide external border with numerous portraits and friezes and a large central floral decoration; decorations on the spine; original metal clasps.
(10) -176- (49, missing the last, blank) numbered leaves. On pages 8 and 9, woodcut engraving on a double page depicting the territory of Avignon, an illustration already used in previous editions.
The volume contains the Canzoniere (or Rerum vulgarium fragmenta) and the Trionfi del Petrarca, commented by the writer, poet and scholar from Lucca active Alessandro Veluttello (b. 1473).
Excellent condition; traces of dirt on the first two leaves.
