ALAMANNI Luigi (1495 – 1556)
OPERE TOSCANE
XVI-century venetian full calf binding.
(16) – 431 numbered pages in the first part, 295 – (9) in the second.
Differently from the first edition, issued in Florence (Giunti, 1532) which
comprised only the first volume and other editions that were sent to
stake, this one gathers all of Alamanni’s works (30 elegies, 14 eclogues,
178 sonnets, The Tale of Narcissus, Roman deluge, The Tale of Atlas, 12
satires, translated Penitential Psalms, 17 Sylvas, The Tale of Phaeton,
Antigone, 8 hymns, 68 sonnets). 'Extremely elegant edition, cited by the
Crusca Academists' (Camerini)
Some occasional and light stains, especially in the first leaves; binding
cuffs skillfully restored.
